Daniel Schonhaut, PhD

Research Scientist
Neurology

I completed my PhD in neuroscience at the University of Pennsylvania in 2022, with work decoding time and space from single-neuron activity in hospital patients undergoing intracranial electrode implantation. As a research scientist at the Memory and Aging Center, I help coordinate activities in the PET imaging core and conduct independent research on PET biomarkers of Alzheimer's disease, with a focus on early-onset and atypical clinical variants alongside longitudinal modeling of disease progression. I live in Berkeley with my partner and our two cats, and in my spare time enjoy hiking and camping around California, attempting to garden, and amateur rock climbing.
