Nidhi's paper on plasma vs tau PET is out!

Nidhi Mundada conducted a head to head comparison of plama p-tau217 with Flortaucipir PET in amyloid-positive subjects with cognitive impairment. Blood assessments were acquired within 1 year from the tau PET.

She found a strong correlation between plasma and tau PET, specially in the temporo-parietal and dorsolateral frontal cortices. However, only tau PET was able to predict longitudinal cognitive decline measured by MMSE, in a model that contained both plasma and tau biomarkers. Mounting evidence on the promising role of plasma biomarkers, but still highlighting the added value of tau PET imaging.

A special congrats to Nidhi for her first first-author publication! And also a great teamwork with the biofluids team.
