This past week, two major publications led by RabLab members were published. Both papers were related to the IDEAS or NEW IDEAS studies, which are "real world" investigations of amyloid-PET imaging (for more information, see the study website).
- Ehud Zeltzer et al Concordance Between Amyloid-PET Quantification and Real-World Visual Reads was published in JAMA Neurology. This paper compared the visual read performed at each study site by a local radiologist/nuclear medicine physician and a PET quantification in Centiloids performed centrally (and independantly) at UCSF. This analysis was based on 10,350 scans acquired in the original IDEAS study
- Charles Windon et al, Amyloid PET and clinical management in a diverse, cognitively impaired population: The New IDEAS Study was published in Alzheimer's & Dementia. It assessed changes in clinical management related to amyloid-PET outcomes in the NEW IDEAS study, which included 5757 participants, including 30% LatinX and 22% Black/African American individuals.
Congrats to both Ehud and Charles, and to the whole lab for their contribution to the work!
