Witsarut earned his medical degree and completed his neurology training at the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, Thailand. He subsequently completed a fellowship in behavioral neurology and worked as a behavioral neurologist at Siriraj Hospital.

From 2025 to 2026, he was an Atlantic Fellow for Equity in Brain Health at the Global Brain Health Institute, UCSF. After completing the fellowship, he has joined the RabLab at UCSF as a visiting scholar to further develop his clinical and research skills in neurodegenerative diseases.

His research interests focus on early-onset Alzheimer’s disease. His goal is to better understand the disease and translate research findings into clinical applications that support earlier and more accurate diagnosis.
