Maison's paper out in Alzheimer's & Dementia

Maison Abu Raya's first publication from the lab is out in Alzheimer's & Dementia!

This paper is based on the Imaging Dementia-Evidence for Amyloid Scanning (IDEAS) study, which enrolled over 18,000 medicare beneficiaries with MCI or mild dementia and provided them with amyloid-PET scans. In this manuscript, Maison studied sex differences in amyloid-PET positivity and amyloid-PET burden (measured with Centiloids), showing that females/women had higher rates of amyloid-PET positivity, and higher amyloid-PET burden (even when only including amyloid-PET-positive cases) than males/men.

Results were consistent across methods used to define amyloid-PET positivity (visual read at the local site or PET quantification in centiloids done centrally at UCSF).
